If you’re an avid foodie or a staunch follower of trends, you’ve probably seen the #Buddhabowl trend on Instagram quite a few times.

Buddha bowls, or ‘hippy bowls’ as they are commonly known, are hearty, filling dishes made of delicious vegetables and whole-wheat grains. The Buddha bowl trend has grown exponentially since 2016, with chefs, celebrities and food enthusiasts across the globe each sharing their renditions of it.

While Buddha bowls vary from dish to dish – the formula remains the same. Not only are they jam-packed with rich nutrients and vitamins that aid weight loss and overall well-being, but are also a great way to use up any leftover produce.

If you’re not already on the Buddha bowl bandwagon, here’s an easy-to-make Greek Buddha bowl recipe to try at home.

You will need (Ingredients):

Feta cheese
Cherry tomatoes
Green pepper



3 tbsp olive oil
½ lemon
Parsley, finely chopped
Salt and pepper



  1. Cut up all the ingredients.
  2. Place in neat sections around the bowl.
  3. Add dressing


One last note…

Buddha Bowls are vegan, so there shouldn’t be any animal products like meat, fish or bacon in them.
